What If

I always see you looking at the sky,
As if its rain could wash away the blood,
As if the clouds might take away your sanity,
As if their false idol would strike you down again.

I always see you staring at the ground,
As if you belonged there for all eternity,
As if it could kill you at any moment,
As if it might end at any point.

I always see you crying yourself to sleep,
As if the tears might drown you and end it all,
As if your eyes could sing such a sweet sorrow,
As if only the silent weeping knew your troubles.

I always see you clinging to happiness,
As if the reaper itself might steal it away,
As if nothing would ever stay there for you,
As if the vow you made would haunt you without it.

I always see you hurting yourself,
As if that knife stained itself on your blood freely,
As if a cut now meant a kiss later,
As if you always loved to wear your scars proudly.

I always see you falling down,
As if no staircase would accept your attempts,
As if childish lessons came with bad memories,
As if one step forward meant two steps downward.

I always see you fighting!
As if no one could ever douse the fire in your eyes!
As if all the world's pain meant nothing to you!
As if any bastard who dare betray you be damned, alas,

I always see you dying...
