For The Ugly Girl

She punches all her mirrors,
She hates the image they reflect.
Of an ugly little child,
With a seemless heart defect.
She cannot see her beauty,
All she can see is flaw,
And now she's consumed with jealousy,
Jealousy for them all.
She's the smile in the distance,
With a teardrop in her eye.
She wishes she was beautiful,
As pretty as the heavens and the sky.
But she's not, and she knows this,
She is just another ugly soul.
With a personality worth millions,
Living a self doubting hole.
She hates her inside feelings,
The way they make her days depressed.
So now she's just pretending.
Her self esteem is less and less.
This girl once strong and confident,
Is now unworthy and ashamed.
For she's no longer beautiful,
She's become one of the lame.
Lame in spirit, lame in beauty,
Lame in all that she will do,
So she lies so ever slightly,
Keeping her charades for you,
She will fake that she loves herself,
Go on with a smile,
And maybe, just maybe,
She might see her beauty for a while.
