Promethius Part 1: Prayers Of A Thoughtful Prisoner

I hide behind my forgotten smile,
Waiting until they leave
For me to weep and bleed.
What a terrible web we weave.

Let them laugh,
Let me suffer by words.
My thoughts mean nothing,
Make me bleed until it hurts.

I die daily,
To be reborn by the night.
If the sun never rose,
Then I’d be alright.

Their perfect lives left uncomplete,
Without the stress of me.
If I were gone,
Then life would be glee.

I die daily,
To be reborn by the night.
If the sun was gone,
Then I’d be alright.
